We are hiring from a single applicant pool to fill two distinct positions: the Parent and Transition Coordinator (Program Coordinator I) and the Orientation and Onboarding Coordinator (Program Coordinator I). Both of these roles are a blend of logistical coordination, technical work inside software platforms, mentorship of student workers, and frontline customer support. The Parent and Transition Coordinator supports student transition initiatives and Parent and Family Programs across the USU system. They coordinate logistics, manage communications, and guide peer mentors who help new students navigate their first steps at the university. They provide high-touch support to parents and supporters via an online platform and also implement programs such as Parent Orientation and Parent and Family Weekend. This position also plays a key role in the USU 1010 Connections program, planning activities and supervising the peer mentors. The coordinator also contributes to social media efforts that strengthen connection and engagement with families and new students. The Orientation and Onboarding Coordinator supports the implementation of onboarding communications and orientation programming for enrolled students across the USU system. They manage the day-to-day logistics that shape both online and in-person experiences. They maintain accurate content and functional code within orientation platforms, help with communication workflows, and ensure a seamless experience across distinct student populations. The coordinator also supervises the A-Team, a group of student workers who facilitate orientation, manage high-volume communication channels, and provide high-quality customer service to incoming students and their families. Responsibilities Key Responsibilities: Parent and Transition Coordinator Coordinate Parent and Family Programs in Logan and support statewide logistics for newsletters, events, and online content. Provide high-touch customer service to parents and supporters through email, phone, Zoom, and in-person interactions. Manage the delivery and accuracy of parent communications through CampusESP and other platforms. Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor USU 1010 Connections Peer Mentors. Support day-to-day logistics for the USU 1010 course in Logan, including activities and large-scale events. Organize and execute Logan-based family events such as Parent Orientation and Parent and Family Weekend. Coordinate social media content that supports orientation and transition goals. Develop and support transition-related programs that help incoming students find their place at the university. Collect feedback from students, mentors, and families to support program improvement. Stay current on university policies and ensure parent- and transition-related content remains accurate and up to date. Use various software tools to track engagement and support data-informed decision making. Key Responsibilities: Orientation and Onboarding Coordinator Support the implementation of onboarding communications and orientation programming across the USU system. Update and maintain content, coding, and functionality within orientation platforms to ensure accurate and personalized delivery for students in Logan, throughout the state, and online. Conduct quality checks on communications, ensuring correct coding, segmentation, and date accuracy. Recruit, train, supervise, and mentor the A-Team student staff. Supervise student workers as they manage high-volume communication channels and provide customer service to incoming students and families. Coordinate personalized outreach to various student groups. Plan and execute all in-person orientation sessions in Logan, including logistics, staffing, and presenter support. Support orientation efforts for international students through communication and event logistics. Assist with special events such as Connections programming and the Student Leadership Reunion. Track student progress using orientation software tools and dashboards; troubleshoot data or platform issues as they arise. Stay current on university policies and ensure orientation-related content remains accurate and up to date. Collect and organize feedback from students and staff to inform continuous improvement of orientation programs. Use various software tools to track engagement and support data-informed decision making. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience contributing to programs, projects, or software platforms. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with orientation or onboarding programs or a related field at an educational institution. Experience supervising student groups or working within a student group at a college or university. Experience managing communication strategies across different populations. Experience with CRM systems, communication platforms, or orientation software (e.g., Salesforce, Modern Campus, VZ Orientation). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Skill in connecting authentically and communicating effectively with student leaders and student staff. Familiarity with or ability to gain knowledge of messaging logic, coding frameworks, and technical processes used to segment and communicate with multiple student groups. Training is provided for USU-specific systems. Strong understanding of student development theory, onboarding best practices, and transition programming, with the ability to apply these concepts in designing effective support for various student populations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills that support clear, accurate, and audience-appropriate messaging. Skill in communicating confidently and professionally with associate deans, faculty, administrators, and staff. Ability to process, recall, and accurately apply detailed technical information across varied scenarios.
