Location: Maple Grove, MN | Onsite

Pay Rate: $26/hour

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM

Contract: 6 months (possible Contract-to-Hire)

We are seeking a Laser Technician with strong hands-on experience in laser systems, CAD, and machine-based testing to support a fast-paced process development lab environment in Maple Grove, MN. This role is ideal for a self-motivated technician who enjoys working directly on equipment, developing laser processes, and supporting engineering teams from concept through production.

What You'll Do

• Support Process Development Engineers and Scientists in developing and optimizing laser-based manufacturing processes
• Operate and align laser systems (fiber, Nd:YAG, femtosecond), including vision systems and Ophir power meters
• Perform laser cutting and laser welding of materials
• Spend the majority of time working directly at machines (8-10 systems to learn)
• Conduct inspection and testing, including Tencel testing
• Create CAD designs and assist with fixture design
• Write and maintain technical reports and process documentation
• Assist with equipment integration, optical systems, and vendor coordination
• Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Quality, Production, and Equipment Engineering
• Train or mentor peers on technical processes as needed

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with an AA degree or equivalent work experience
• Hands-on experience with laser systems (required)
• CAD experience creating programs for laser systems
• Experience aligning laser systems and machine integration with optical systems
• Knowledge of C++ and G-code programming
• Inspection experience using vision systems
• U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship available)

Interview Process: 1st round virtual (manager), 2nd round onsite

Team Environment: Team of 8, working closely with 2-3 teammates per project
