Journeyman Network Services Engineer

LOCATION: Hanscom AFB, Bedford, MA

Salary Range:$125-$135,000

JOB STATUS:Full-time

CLEARANCE: Secret

CERTIFICATION: n/a

TRAVEL:Limited, as needed

Astrion has an exciting opportunity for a Network Services Engineer located at Hanscom AFB in Bedford Massachusetts to directly support the Base Information Transport Infrastructure (BITI) program, which is within the C3I and Infrastructure Division (AFLCMC/HNI).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a related field and at least 3years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, 3 of which must be in the DoD
  • OR 7 years of directly related experience with proper certifications, of which 5 years must be in the DoD
  • MUST have an active US Security Clearance

RESPONSBILITIES:

The individual shall advise and support work that involves the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation, implementation, integration, maintenance, and/or management of networked systems used for the transmission of information in voice, data, and/or video formats. Functions required to be performed by individuals in this specialty may include:

  • Analyzing and recommending network requirements.
  • Recommending and maintaining network architecture and infrastructure.
  • Analyzing network workload.
  • Monitoring network capacity and performance.
  • Diagnosing and resolving network problems.
  • Recommending network backup and recovery procedures.
  • Installing, testing, maintaining, and upgrading network operating systems software; and/or ensuring the rigorous application of information security/cybersecurity policies, principles, and practices in the delivery of network services.
