JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS The Smeal College of Business Management and Organization Department (M&O) seeks a part-time detail-oriented and organized administrative support professional. This position will be part of a team that supports two large-enrollment courses offered by the M&O Department. This position requires engagement and communication with undergraduate students, instructors, and other members of the Teaching Team. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, processing student messages and answering questions, helping to support the needs of multiple instructors; assisting with processing course data (such as documenting attendance and grades); and using tools such as Canvas, Excel, and auxiliary tools such as Top Hat and Packback. Typical Education and Experience Requirements: Typically requires a High School diploma or higher plus one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional Preferred Education, Experience, or Certifications: Associate's degree and additional years of experience are preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. Experience working with systems including Canvas. Requires intermediate proficiency using Microsoft Excel as well as other Office Suite Programs. Customer service experience or experience working with students is a plus.The successful candidate will be a self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively, exercise discretion in handling confidential information, and an ability to work with multiple faculty members simultaneously. Excellent oral/written communication skills with all stakeholders are a must (students, faculty, department, college and university), along with an ability to communicate with tact and practice discretion and confidentiality concerning sensitive situations and issues. Knowledge of University policies and procedures is helpful.
