Position Summary:

Sony Corporation of America ("SCA") is seeking a Summer 2026 law student intern to support the Legal Department. The intern will assist lawyers in transactional, litigation and corporate matters. SCA's law student intern program is designed to provide the intern with hands-on training in a real-world environment of an in-house legal department. Assignments will vary and may include researching and drafting memos, reviewing agreements and other legal documents, and attending client meetings, negotiations, etc. Intern will be paid unless seeking course credit, which may be possible in certain circumstances.

This is a full time internship requiring 3 days per week (Tuesday - Thursday) in the NYC office and remote work on Monday and Friday.

Qualifications:

  • Experience/background/course work/other indicia of interest in the fields of technology, media, or similar industries

  • Minimum of 3.0 GPA

  • Prior law firm/judicial internship or related internship experience is a plus

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and follow through on tasks until they are completed

  • Experience in discreetly handling confidential information preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must be enrolled in an ABA accredited law school

  • If applicant is seeking course credit, such applicant must be enrolled in an ABA accredited law school internship/externship or clinical program

Requirements:

  • Submit resume, cover letter, writing sample and copy of law school transcript as part of the application materials

  • Available to work 8-10 weeks starting May/June 2026 through August 2026

  • Candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.

The target hourly rate for this internship is $23.00 per hour. The individual will be paid hourly and eligible for overtime.
