Responsibilities:

The HR Recruitment Specialist functions independently as a subject matter expert for new hire and transfer processes across Presbyterian Healthcare Services. In this role, you will manage employment and preboarding activities with a high degree of accuracy, critical thinking, and service excellence. You will partner closely with recruiters, managers, payroll, and compensation teams to ensure smooth, timely, and compliant transactions while supporting a high-volume, fastmoving Shared Services environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the HRIS subject matter expert for all new hire and transfer transactions.

  • Process and validate employment actions with strong attention to detail, ensuring accuracy, policy alignment, and completion of all required documentation.

  • Respond to inquiries from employees, managers, providers, and internal partners regarding the PHS hiring process, systems, and policy requirements.

  • Provide mentorship and guidance to HR Specialist I team members to support accuracy and ontime completion of work.

  • Communicate workload updates and transaction volumes to Recruitment leadership to support productivity metrics and service-level commitments.

  • Coordinate with recruiters, payroll, and compensation to resolve discrepancies in salary, pay grade, or disbursements throughout the hiring process.

  • Review background checks that present potential risk and escalate to Recruitment leadership for adjudication.

  • Conduct monthly audits to ensure accuracy of data entry, background checks, and HR information related to new hire and transfer processing.

  • Process employee referral submissions and ensure accurate attribution.

  • Escalate complex issues, delays, and highrisk situations to Recruitment leadership for resolution.

  • Actively participate in team meetings, process improvement initiatives, and cross-functional HR projects.

  • Engage candidates and employees with professional, timely, and clear communication throughout the hiring and onboarding lifecycle.

  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold HR compliance standards in all work.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to identify issues, solve problems, and escalate appropriately.

  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry, documentation, and audit processes.

  • Ability to build rapport and maintain positive relationships with recruiters, hiring leaders, and cross-functional partners.

  • Proven experience working in a highvolume, multipriority environment with the ability to meet deadlines under pressure.

  • Professional written and verbal communication skills, including experience supporting candidates and internal stakeholders.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information in accordance with HR standards.

  • Proficiency with HRIS systems; experience with Workday or similar HR platforms preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills and competence with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications:

High school Diploma or GED required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Experience in HR operations, onboarding, staffing, or employment processing.

  • Background check adjudication exposure.

  • Experience mentoring or training peers in process or system workflows.
