Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Technical Innovation Manager to join our shared services team.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Industry Engagement and Brand Building:

    • Represent the organization at industry conferences, delivering training sessions and educational workshops to increase brand awareness and thought leadership.
    • Participate in industry committees to help shape and strengthen the broader security ecosystem.


  • Standards Development and Knowledge Management:

    • Establish programming standards, repository guidelines, and maintenance processes for custom code development.
    • Define and document post-sales engineering and professional services playbooks, including clear rules of engagement and swim lanes for each team.
    • Partner with training and development managers to enhance internal knowledge bases, incorporating advanced tools such as industry-specific chatbots or forums.


  • Technical Escalation and Support:

    • Serve as a technical escalation point for the professional services and post-sales engineering teams.
    • Provide hands-on support for complex customer deployments and field escalations.
    • Act as a high-level resource for the sales team during technical discussions, migration planning, and customer strategy sessions.


  • Physical Security and Vulnerability Assessments:

    • Design, implement, and perform physical security vulnerability assessments for customers, ensuring comprehensive risk identification and providing mitigation strategies.


  • Cybersecurity and Risk Management:

    • Define and implement standards for cybersecurity and installation hardening in operational projects.
    • Conduct cybersecurity and third-party risk assessments for new products and platforms.


  • Sales Support and Solution Design:

    • Provide pre-sales technical assistance for complex integrations and designs, ensuring smooth transitions to professional services.
    • Assist with strategic planning for migrations, upgrades, and advanced customer projects.


  • Innovation and R&D Leadership:

    • Lead proof-of-concept (PoC) efforts and research & development (R&D) for new integrations, advanced solutions, and business offerings to ensure a competitive edge
    • Collaborate with product management to define roadmaps for innovative products and solutions




Basic Qualifications:



  • Associate's degree
  • 7 to 10 years experience
  • Valid Drivers' License and Clean Driving Record
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Certifications - SICC (cyber for physical security), PSP (physical security), CPP (physical security), CompTIA Security+ (Cyber)
  • Expertise with Video Management Systems
  • Able to travel as needed, up to 30% of time
  • Able to coordinate multiple customer strategic needs and initiatives into a holistic security program and system
  • Experience working with multiple enterprise network, virtualization, and database systems
  • Able to act as the subject matter expert in major product lines and platforms
  • Able to explain technical concepts and systems to non-technical audiences

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business management, personnel management, project management or related
  • Access Control Manufacturer specific certifications: Verkada, Software House, Lenel, Gallagher, Genetec, Avigilon, Milestone
  • Advances or Enterprise technical certifications on platforms and systems sold by Pavion
  • Certified Smart Card Industry Professional
