Description

Smith & Wesson is seeking a highly motivated Marketing Analytics & E-Commerce Intern to join our team for Summer 2026! This internship opportunity will provide hands-on experience and exposure to various marketing functions, including E-Comm, email marketing, and analytics.



Internship Dates: May 18th-August 14th



Location, Schedule, & Compensation:



  • In-office/non-remote
  • Maryville, TN
  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • Paid



Education and Experience:


Currently enrolled in an associate or bachelor's degree program in a related field.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Data Analysis & Reporting


    • Collect, clean, and analyze website data from multiple sources.
    • Assist with dashboards and reports to track sales, customer behavior, conversion rates, and other key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Identify trends, patterns, and opportunities to optimize website performance.
    • Support business teams with ad hoc analysis and recommendations based on data-driven insights.
    • Data entry and website updates based on findings.


  • E-Commerce Performance Optimization


    • Analyze customer purchasing behavior, segmentation, and lifetime value.
    • Conduct A/B testing and analyze results to improve customer experience and conversion rates.
    • Provide insights on customer journey, churn rate, and retention strategies.
    • Evaluate product performance, pricing strategies, and sales trends.
    • Identify opportunities for improving website traffic, checkout processes, and cart abandonment rates.

Competencies and Skills:



  • Technical Skills

    • Some experience with data analytics tools.
    • Experience with BI tools is ideal.
    • Knowledge of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and e-commerce platforms is helpful.


  • Soft Skill

    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights





Physical Demands:


Continuous: sitting


Occasional: walking, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, fine and gross upper body motor movement.


Extended time in a sitting position, prolonged use of a computer, and possible eye strain.


Occasional lift: 0 to 30 pounds

Work Environment and Personal Protective Equipment:


Within the Smith & Wesson manufacturing facility, employees may be exposed to manufacturing noise, airborne liquid chemicals, fine particulate dust, ambient temperatures, and industrial lighting. Work environment is similar to most manufacturing operations. May be exposed to excessive noise, temperatures, hazards associated with working around moving machinery, work in confined quarters, exposure to vibrations and shop lighting, continuous exposure to hot temperatures, may be humid, odors, dust, continuous exposure to mechanical hazards, and occasional exposure to chemical hazards.


The following Personal Protective Equipment is required: Safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection are required when on the manufacturing floor. The use of additional personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required when a job task(s) is being completed in or around your assigned department or in another department, this includes safety eyewear, hearing protection, and safety footwear.
