Purpose

The Associate Director of Reporting and Insights plays a pivotal role in leading the management and optimization of career data systems, developing advanced analytics and reporting tools, and generating actionable insights that support career education and outcomes across campus. In collaboration with the director, the role partners with stakeholders to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and compliance, while producing dashboards, research reports, and executive-level analyses. The position also supervises student staff, mentors team members in data management and analytics, and drives major survey initiatives. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise in programming, analytics and data visualization, strategic and analytical thinking, and excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

Data Management & Operations

  • Collaborate with the systems support lead on central career data systems to ensure data integrity, user accessibility, and alignment of data practices across all colleges and schools.
  • Assist in the development and management of centralized data warehouse.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather required data and ensure accuracy of data.
  • Collaborate with the director to improve data access, quality, and processes.
  • Provide data sourcing assistance and consultation to enhance strategies for data collection and integration.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on data management.
  • Mentor staff on data management and operations.

Reporting and Analytics

  • Develop customized dashboards and data visualization, including the executive dashboard, and standardized reports for campus-wide use.
  • Design and implement sustainable analytics tools and data models.
  • Produce assessment and research reports, fact sheets, presentations and other written materials and analyses based on timely, systematically derived data.
  • Maintain compliance with all related federal, state, institutional, UT System and NACE regulations, guidelines, and reporting.
  • Respond to campus-wide data inquiries and executive reporting requests.
  • Manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Stay informed on higher education career data trends to guide best practices.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on career outcomes.
  • Assist in training staff on reporting and analytics.
  • Lead Pre and Post Graduation Surveys data collection and analyses.

Insights

  • Collaborate with the director on research and analysis of career education, experiential learning, and job market data and support development of reporting and insights.
  • Assist stakeholders in the development of market insights utilizing data modeling.

Supervision

  • Hire, train, and supervise student staff.

Required Qualifications

Equivalent combination or substitution of relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate

  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Information Technology, Social/ Behavioral Sciences, or related fields (Master's degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience as a progressive full-time work experience including data collection, cleaning and analyses, coding and report writing. (7+ years of experience preferred).
  • Expertise in SPSS, SAS, R, Python, SQL and/or other programming and statistical software.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with organizing and implementing data visualizations and dashboards using a variety of mediums (e.g., Qualtrics, Tableau, Power BI Tools, Excel).
  • Demonstrated effective communication and leadership skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated reliability, productivity, adherence to timelines and ability to meet deadlines on time-sensitive projects.

Salary Range

$85,000 + depending on qualifications
