The WEX Summer Internship Program: Learn, Lead, and Make an Impact

About the team/role:

WEX Bank is a leading provider of financial solutions and payment services. We are committed to providing our customers with exceptional service while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and ethical conduct.We are seeking a Regulatory Compliance Intern. The candidate who assumes this role will be a member of the WEX Bank Compliance Team, reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer. In this role, the team member will focus on supporting the compliance team with various compliance activities.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Support the compliance team execute the Bank's overall compliance program as part of the second line of defense.

  • Support the development of compliance resources inclusive of checklists, job aids, training, control documentation, procedures, testing scripts, etc.

  • Support process mapping, control testing and review and/or assist in the development of first line of defense (the business areas) compliance.

  • Learn how to assess the level of risk associated with any issues found during testing, following established guidelines.

  • Help report any findings or issues to the team responsible for managing them, including understanding why the issue happened and suggesting ways to fix it.

  • Build positive and collaborative relationships with colleagues across WEX, especially those in the business areas and other teams.

  • Assist in creating compliance reports for the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO), Management Compliance Committee (MCC), Management, and/or the Board.

Experience you'll bring:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program, with a focus in Business, Statistics, Analytics, Pre-Law, Finance, or related.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Prior banking experience preferred.

  • Ability to research regulatory changes and analyze their impact.

  • Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with colleagues and communicating with management.

  • Proficiency in using relevant software and systems is important.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX's total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan.
