Specialist - Strategy & Corporate Finance Job ID: 104785 Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day?
If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
You will work in teams of typically 3-5 consultants, playing an active role in all aspects of client engagement. This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and synthesizing and communicating recommendations to leadership and the client.
As a Specialist within the Strategy and Corporate Finance practice, you will be responsible for bringing valuation principles and strategic thinking to each client situation. This includes developing frameworks to analyze business problems using qualitative and quantitative approaches, working on financial benchmarking and business modeling to provide fact-based rationale for client's strategic choices across organic and inorganic upside opportunities. Key skills will include financial modeling, business analysis and insights, and general valuation knowledge. You will create presentations and analytical materials related to each topic, conduct qualitative analysis to frame, and solve conceptual problems through in-depth research and close collaboration with experts.
As a Strategy & Corporate Finance Specialist, you will leverage your expertise to develop insights and actionable recommendations, while owning a workstream or a portion of it and overseeing junior colleagues. You will translate these recommendations into pragmatic, realistic actions and collaborate effectively with client team members, motivating them to engage and contribute their knowledge and capabilities. Additionally, you will codify your own expertise, synthesizing and sharing it with colleagues, and contribute to the Strategy & Corporate Finance practice by building cutting-edge knowledge, concepts, frameworks, tools, and ideas while staying updated on the latest thinking. Your role will also involve supporting client development efforts, such as contributing to proposals and white papers. McKinsey emphasizes strengths-based development and coaching, providing you with mentoring from colleagues, including a senior colleague from your office or practice who will guide your growth and help you achieve your career goals. Furthermore, you will have a professional development manager who will align your staffing with your priorities and the needs of client service teams.
During your first few years with the firm, you will consult on multiple client engagements and work with many colleagues and clients across a range of industry areas. When you join McKinsey, you are joining a firm that will invest in your professional development. Your Growth
Driving lasting impact and building long-term capabilities with our clients is not easy work. You are the kind of person who thrives in a high performance/high reward culture - doing hard things, picking yourself up when you stumble, and having the resilience to try another way forward.
In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities you need to become a stronger leader faster than you ever thought possible. Your colleagues-at all levels-will invest deeply in your development, just as much as they invest in delivering exceptional results for clients. Every day, you'll receive apprenticeship, coaching, and exposure that will accelerate your growth in ways you won't find anywhere else.
