What You Will Do:

As a Staff Industrial Hygienist, you will play a pivotal role in promoting healthier, safer workplaces. In this position, you'll be relied on to verify that environments are free of hazardous substances, including asbestos, lead-based coatings, and indoor air pollutants. Your efforts support regulatory compliance, safeguard personnel, and reinforce client trust. You'll oversee projects from initial evaluation through final deliverables, guide junior team members, and help drive business initiatives, all while strengthening your technical capabilities within a collaborative team.



  • Perform Hazardous Material Evaluations: Carry out on-site assessments for asbestos, lead-based paint, and indoor air quality using established protocols. Gather samples, follow quality assurance practices, and review resulting data to confirm accuracy and completeness.
  • Produce High-Quality Reports: Create clear, comprehensive reports for small to mid-sized assignments, presenting conclusions and actionable recommendations. Work with senior reviewers to ensure alignment with standards and technical expectations.
  • Create Project Scopes and Proposals: Define project parameters, estimate costs, and prepare written proposals with straightforward technical requirements. Support client engagement and contribute to winning new work.
  • Assist in Business Development Activities: Represent the firm in local industry groups, participate in committees, and join senior personnel during client meetings to enhance relationships and broaden visibility in the marketplace.
  • Coach and Support Junior Staff: Offer training and direction to junior team members on collecting field data and conducting observations, promoting their professional development, and maintaining consistent work quality.



What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for someone who is detaildriven, organized, and confident in their ability to apply strong analytical and problemsolving skills in both field and reporting environments. Someone who communicates clearly, collaborates well with others, and brings the initiative needed to support project success, mentor junior staff, and contribute to overall team growth.

Qualifications:



  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Safety and Health, or other related sciences
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of industrial hygiene field sampling experience
  • Certifications:

    • NC certified Asbestos Inspector
    • Air Sampler or Monitor accreditation, a plus


  • Key Competencies:

    • Good business and technical writing skills





Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:



  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Working outside of normal business hours when necessary
