Your Role at Baxter

A Quality Leader is responsible for setting the strategic direction, oversight, and continuous improvement of an organization's quality systems. This role ensures that products, processes, and operations meet all applicable regulatory requirements and company standards. The Quality Leader could have responsibilities in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Compliance, Microbiology, and other related quality functions, promoting a culture of quality, collaboration, and operational excellence.

What you'll be doing

Quality Strategy & Leadership

  • Develop and implement the overall quality strategy aligned with organizational goals.

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of quality professionals, including QA, QC, compliance, and microbiology teams.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration across departments.

Quality Assurance

  • Ensure effective deployment and maintenance of quality systems, including document control, change control, CAPA, deviation management, and risk management.

  • Oversee quality reviews, product release processes, and quality decision-making to ensure safety, efficacy, and compliance.

Quality Control & Microbiology

  • Provide oversight for laboratory testing, environmental monitoring, and microbiological programs.

  • Ensure proper qualification, calibration, and maintenance of laboratory equipment and testing methodologies.

  • Drive improvements in laboratory performance, data integrity, and technical capability.

Regulatory & Compliance

  • Ensure site and/or organizational compliance with applicable industry regulations (e.g., GMP, ISO standards) and internal quality standards.

  • Serve as a point of contact for audits and inspections; lead preparation, execution, and response activities.

  • Monitor regulatory trends and adapt quality systems to meet evolving requirements.

Operations Support & CrossFunctional Collaboration

  • Partner with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, R&D, and other functions to ensure quality is embedded throughout operations.

  • Lead quality risk assessments and support rootcause investigation and corrective/preventive actions.

  • Establish and track quality metrics, communicating performance to leadership and stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

  • Drive initiatives that improve product quality, reduce waste, enhance efficiency, and strengthen compliance.

  • Leverage data analytics, problem-solving tools, and best practices to improve processes.

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred).

  • 8-10+ years of experience in Quality, Manufacturing, Laboratory, or related fields.

  • Significant people management and leadership experience.

  • Strong knowledge of quality regulations, standards, and industry best practices.

  • Demonstrated success leading complex quality systems and supporting audits/inspections.

  • Excellent communication, problemsolving, and organizational skills.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $152,000 - $209,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
