Medical Biller - Insurance Verification Specialist Baltimore, MD Pay From $23.00 per hour MUST: The medical billing/verification specialist should have the following experience: 5+ years of experience working with verifying health insurance benefits including Medicaid and Medicare Obtaining authorizations prior to patients appointments Revenue Cycle experience Strong experience working with Medicaid and Medicare Knowledge of a sliding scale for payments of patients at a lower income level and self payers Ability to maximize insurance reimbursements and payments to site Determining deductibles and co-pays to patients and financial assistance that may be available Strong knowledge of HIPPA HS Diploma or GED DUTIES: The duties of the Patient Coverage Verification Specialist include but are not limited to the following: Verify patient's coverages prior to appointments thru Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers Identify patient coverage needs and review sliding scale of payments with lower income patients and patients with no insurance coverage Obtain pre-authorizations Determine co-pays and deductibles due Ensure maximum reimbursements for services thru insurance Discuss financial options for patients Completes forms and maintain logs Enter and verify patient data Contact patients and family members as needed Quadrant is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer.
