As a Security Officer - Art Center Patrol in Columbus, GA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cultural Institutions, and more. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a cultural institution location, you will monitor galleries and public areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain highly visible to help to reduce security-related incidents. You will greet guests, assist staff with questions and/or concerns, and communicate clearly while documenting observations. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to guests, staff, volunteers, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including medical situations, guest disputes, lost child reports, and property concerns.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout galleries, exhibit areas, public spaces, back-of-house corridors, offices, loading areas, and perimeter grounds to help to deter unwanted activity and identify maintenance and access concerns.
  • Monitor entrances, restricted areas, and after-hours activity, verifying authorized access for employees, contractors, and deliveries in accordance with site procedures.
  • Assist with crowd management and line control during special exhibitions, programs, and events, providing directions and guest assistance while supporting security-related post orders.
  • Observe and report unusual activity, policy violations, and potential hazards to site management and/or Allied Universal leadership using clear verbal communication and written documentation.
  • Complete daily activity reports and incident reports with accurate details, including times, locations, involved parties, and actions taken.
  • Operate site equipment as assigned, such as radios, phones, access control systems, and CCTV when available, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command.
  • Support closing and opening procedures as assigned, including perimeter checks, door and gate checks, and verification of restricted areas.
  • Work in various environments and conditions based on the location, including indoor galleries and outdoor walking patrol routes.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
