Job Description




As a Security Officer - Factory Patrol Driver in Ankeny, IA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial, and more. As an unarmed, driving patrol officer at a busy manufacturing and industrial location, you will perform routine mobile and on-foot patrols, stay highly visible to help to deter security-related incidents, and respond to alarms, access questions, and service requests. You will communicate clearly with staff and visitors, document observations, and support a team that is agile, reliable, innovative, people-first, and guided by integrity.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel, contractors, and/or visitors by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at an industrial manufacturing location.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting actions taken and communicating updates per post orders.
  • Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of production areas, warehouses, offices, and the exterior perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
  • Control access at gates, entrances, and loading docks by verifying identification, issuing visitor credentials, and logging deliveries and contractor activity according to site requirements.
  • Complete required reports, shift logs, and incident documentation, and communicate hazards, maintenance issues, and/or unusual conditions to the appropriate contacts.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • A state, county, or city issued security license is preferred.
  • CPR and/or First Aid is preferred.
  • Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
