Senior Director, Renewal Sales - Life Sciences & Healthcare

Our subscription base is the foundation of our business, and this role is an exciting opportunity to utilize your extensive life science sales and leadership experience to play a critical role in driving growth for LS&H. This is a global role reporting into the VP Sales Operations, responsible for delivering strong retention of our LS&H renewal base, directly managing both regional SDM leaders and individual contributors in specialty areas.

Responsible for leading and overseeing cross functional strategic initiatives to grow retention, driving business growth, and ensuring operational excellence. You will be required to collate and represent our global sales retention forecast at executive leadership level. Requires strong leadership skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a deep understanding of the organizational structure to shape and execute the company's long-term vision.

What will you be doing in this role?

  • Meet and exceed global retention target

  • Continuous, accurate forecasting of our global renewal business

  • Lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that support company-wide objectives and long-term growth of our retention base.

  • Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to align departmental goals with overall business strategy.

  • Oversee operations across multiple teams, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and accountability in execution.

  • Influence organizational direction by providing strategic insight, data-driven recommendations, and forward-looking planning.

  • Build and maintain high-performing teams by fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  • Monitor performance metrics and operational outcomes to identify areas for improvement and implement effective solutions.

  • Attend customer meetings alongside renewals team to improve our success and provide coaching opportunities

  • Attend customer meetings for key negotiations in person if required

Management Responsibilities:

  • Lead and direct the activities of a global team.

  • Drive strategic initiatives, translating company strategy into multifunctional objectives for the department or segment.

  • Lead and direct the work of the global renewals function to achieve objectives with significant contribution towards the achievement of mid-term and long-term results for LS&H

  • Define, influence, and communicate a clear vision for the planning for long-term success of LS&H.

  • Provide influential leadership within the organization or segment, driving cohesive direction toward company goals.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent

  • 10+ Years of Relevant Experience

    • Experience working with senior leadership

    • Sales Leadership experience - ideally international

    • Life science sales experience selling and managing subscriptions

    • Experience working with Finance to deliver accurate forecasts

  • At least 7 years Sales Leadership experience

  • Experience of negotiating large, complex renewal contracts

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed. This is also a hybrid position working in the office or at a client site 2-3 days a week.
