Overview
Azure is a global cloud platform that enables individuals and organizations worldwide to achieve more. In addition to public cloud offerings, the Azure platform hosts large-scale Microsoft-internal services such as Microsoft Teams, Office, Bing, and Structured Query Language (SQL). Effective capacity management-how workloads are allocated to servers, how access to capacity is granted, and how capacity buffers are maintained-plays a critical role in Azure's success. We are investing in this area in Redmond, United States, and seeking software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to drive initiatives that enhance and optimize Azure Core's platform capacity management and efficiency capabilities. In this role, you will collaborate with technical leaders across Azure Core teams and partner teams throughout Microsoft. You will work alongside highly skilled software engineers, data engineers, and data scientists to solve impactful and complex challenges in the Azure Core platform. Your work will include building services and functions that improve customer experience and platform efficiency, as well as driving improvements in availability, scalability, and operability for Azure compute platform capacity and efficiency. If you are interested in large-scale distributed systems and reliable data engineering solutions, and if you value learning, teamwork, and tackling challenges in a diverse and inclusive environment, this role offers tremendous opportunities. You will contribute to services with significant growth potential and global impact on Microsoft's core business, while benefiting from mentorship and career development opportunities. Microsoft's mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond. Responsibilities
