As part of Core AI, as a Software Engineer II you will help evolve Logic Apps to supportagentic execution,autonomous task orchestration,AIfirstworkflow design, andadaptive business process automation-all powered by modern cloud services.



Responsibilities

As an engineer on Logic Apps in Core AI, you will:

  • Design and write code, architect components, and build new features that enableAInativeandagenticscenarios across the Logic Apps runtime and platform.

  • Implement performance, reliability, and scalability improvementsin distributed systems that power billions of workflow and agent actions.

  • Review code, debug deep runtime issues, and deliverhighqualityfixes across the workflow engine, connectors, scheduling, and AI orchestration pipelines.

  • Workacross organizationswith partners in Core AI, Azure Connectors, Functions, API Management, Office AI, and other engineering and product teams.

  • Use data and telemetryto drive product and architecture decisions, including how AIagentsreason, plan, and execute tasks in customer workflows.

  • Act as asteward ofmissioncriticalproductsused by hundreds of thousands of customers, continuously improving service reliability and customer satisfaction throughdatadrivenengineering.

  • Operate as part of amodern, agile, impactful engineering teambuilding platform capabilities for both workflow automation and agentic AI experiences.



Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience building and shippingcloudscaledistributed systems, workflow engines, or platform services.

    Experience with AI/LLMbasedsystems, agent frameworks, or integrating AI into production services.

  • Background designingperformant, reliable systems includingnetwork protocols,eventdrivenarchitectures, andstateful runtimes.

  • Experience withcrossplatformdevelopmenton Windows, Linux, MacOS, iOS, or Android.

  • Knowledge ofworkflow automation, connectors, integration platforms, or enterprise cloud services.

  • Passion for buildingcustomercentricendtoendexperiences, includingAIaugmenteddeveloper workflows, natural language workflow creation, oragentassisteddesign.

Software Engineering IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $100,600 - $199,000 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $131,400 - $215,400 per year.
