Technical Specialist (full-time, regular)

Description:

Train and provide guidance to Field Service Engineers on assigned DR-SEM instrument base. Collaborate with and provide information to Technical Support Engineers and/or Yield Control Technology Engineers as needed to support the development of training and service documentation. Serve as "Engineer in Charge" for customer communications and provide local technical support to customers. Interface with on-site service engineers for the troubleshooting and resolution of more complex problems requiring advanced levels of knowledge and experience. Install and test the assigned equipment at the customer site, and provide local support to customers. Work with New Product Engineers to transition new products to field service operations and support implementation of related field service projects. Conduct ongoing on-the-job ("OJT") and classroom training, including for less experienced engineers, as required. Act as a lead engineer in first-time installations of newly introduced instruments, ensuring that proper techniques and procedures are passed to the local service personnel installing the instruments. Interface with and supply proper communications and reports to the factory design group regarding problems and issues with assigned equipment seen by Service Department members at Metrology and Analysis Systems Division (MAD). Participate in the administration of the Service Department by working with special assignments that require technical input (i.e., spare parts selection, training programs, service procedures). Maintain appropriate records of all work performed and training received. Provide preventive maintenance and emergency service on equipment located within the assigned territory or at an assigned customer site. Set and keep appropriate schedules for service on the assigned equipment.

25% of time spent traveling to customer locations.

Job location: 3600 NE Huffman Street, Hillsboro, Oregon 97124.

Work from home permitted 50% of time.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree (or the foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.

• 2 years of experience in the job offered or related.

• Experience with:

  • Hitachi DR-SEM CR6300;

  • Hitachi e-beam lithography tool CW6300;

  • Hitachi DR-SEM CR7300;

  • calibrating CD-SEM (Critical Dimension Scanning Electron Microscope) for semiconductor metrology; and

  • developing scripts to automate log analysis for CD-SEM data.
