THE ROLE:

AMD's Cloud Sales & Partnerships organization is seeking an experienced and highly technical Sr. Cloud Sales DesignIn Manager to identify and win opportunities targeting AMD FPGA, custom silicon, networking solutions, and pursue EPYC CPU instance usage by 1st party SaaS/PaaS solutions within Microsoft Azure. This role is responsible for identifying new cloud opportunities, influencing architecture and platform decisions, and driving designins across Azure and its 1stparty SaaS and PaaS services.

The ideal candidate has a strong technical background across FPGA, networking, and CPU architectures, combined with deep familiarity with hyperscale cloud business models and Microsoft's ecosystem.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage directly with Microsoft Azure engineering, product, and architecture teams to identify, shape, and close new opportunities for AMD FPGA, custom silicon, networking, and CPUbased solutions.
  • Drive designin adoption of AMD technologies across Azure and EPYC instance use by Azure 1st party SaaS and PaaS services though workload optimization on EPYC instances.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across Microsoft organizations, including Azure Core, devices, networking, and infrastructure.
  • Translate Azure's workload requirements into AMD technical value propositions-performance, TCO, power efficiency, and scalability.
  • Influence longterm architecture and platform roadmaps by representing customer needs back to AMD Business Units, Product, and Engineering teams.
  • Partner with AMD engineering, solution architects, and product management to develop competitive proposals, architectural guidance, and proofofconcept strategies.
  • Track, forecast, and report opportunity pipelines, competitive insights, and execution progress across designin accounts.
  • Represent AMD in technical and business discussions with Azure capacity planning, service owners, and silicon evaluation teams.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Proven technical sales, business development, or solution engineering experience involving FPGA, networking, and CPU technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of FPGA architectures, custom silicon programs, and hardware acceleration strategies.
  • Familiarity with hyperscale cloud computing, including cost models, capacity planning, and servicelevel requirements.
  • Experience working with or selling into Microsoft Azure or similarly complex cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of Azure 1stparty SaaS/PaaS workloads, cloud infrastructure, and platform decision cycles.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical value to engineering leadership and business value to executive stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills across engineering, sales, product, and executivelevel functions.

Bonus Qualifications:

  • Prior experience engaging with Microsoft engineering, sourcing, or cloud architecture teams.
  • Knowledge of Azure compute SKUs, virtual machine architecture, hardware acceleration frameworks, or cloud networking.
  • Familiarity with silicon development cycles, custom silicon engagement models, or advanced networking (SmartNIC, DPU, AINIC).
  • Technical degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

Bachelor's degree or advanced degree preferred
(Technical field such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience)
