Job Summary


The Rehabilitative Services Aide, the H_A II, reports to the therapists of a particular service and provides both direct and indirect patient care services. At this level, the employee is responsible for the treatment of patients who require the direct supervision and daily guidance of an occupational, physical and/or speech therapist. The Rehabilitative Aide works primarily with adult and geriatric patients from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds, although pediatric and adolescent patients may also be treated. The Rehabilitative Aide actively participates in departmental and organizational programs, including performance improvement activities, inservices and staff development activities.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $35.92 - $35.92 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications


  • Possession of a high school diploma.
  • Prior patient care experience in inpatient and/or outpatient rehab or related setting or volunteer experience in rehab or related setting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to recognize signs of physiological distress.
  • Possession of current CPR certification.
  • Proficient in computer skills including Word, Excel, and on line communication.
  • Possession of good interpersonal, time management, problem solving and self-initiation skills.
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Medical Center locations

Preferred Qualifications


  • Prior patient care experience in an acute care rehab setting.
  • Prior experience working with an interdisciplinary health provider team.
  • Prior experience working in an academic medical center environment.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of rehab equipment
