Summary: To provide design and estimation for various low-voltage systems in support of Operations, Project Managers, and Field Resources.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for estimation of time and materials, vendor quotes and proposal generation for a wide variety of specialty system projects
  • Leads Bid Reviews and reviews proposals for accuracy of labor units and materials prior to presentation to customer
  • Responsible for RFP response generation and support of assigned Account Owner or Project Managers with RFP/RFQ creation (including but not limited to site walk-throughs and site measurements)
  • Interacts with manufacturers on new products
  • Develops and maintains resource information on products, vendors, subcontractors and new products
  • Supports Operations Team by doing take-offs, vendor quotes, and proposal generation on an as-needed basis
  • Updates product pricing and quotation documentation
  • Design of various systems drawings as required
  • Lead project kick-off meetings with Project Managers and Field Resources
  • Investigates product specifications and assembles product info sheets into submittals for project managers, construction managers, and general contractors to ensure that customer performance requirement needs are met
  • Manage design request and opportunities in CRM
  • Other duties as assigned

Education/Skills/Experience

Required:

  • Minimum HS diploma or equivalent
  • 5+ years in the communications industry with 1+ year as a cable designer.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in team environment with demonstrated positive attitude.
  • In-depth understanding of products and cabling infrastructures
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and understand floor plans
  • Valid Driver's License and proof of automobile insurance
  • RCDD in progress or Certification preferred

Preferred

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD
  • Accubid Enterprise experience
