Position Summary:

The Assistant Athletic Trainer, under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director of Sports Medicine, is responsible for the daily athletic training needs of assigned intercollegiate teams and the overall care and upkeep of the athletic training facilities. This individual must provide exceptional personal care for student-athletes and sport programs under their assignment, focusing on injury prevention, rehabilitation, healthy eating and living, and health insurance matters. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training or related field/concentration. A minimum of one (1) year of directly related experience as a certified athletic trainer. Possess state athletic training licensure, in good standing, in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, or eligible to pursue upon being hired; Certified by the National Athletic Trainers' Association Board of Certification (NATABOC). Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets and relevant databases. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Preferred

  • Masters Degree

  • Three (3) or more years experience at the Division I collegiate level.

  • Experience managing multiple sports as an athletic trainer.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Experience working with healthcare professionals from a variety of disciplines.

  • The ability to manage several tasks and/or projects simultaneously.

  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and a commitment to customer service.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Strong integrity and character who shares a commitment for knowing and complying with NCAA, Conference and University rules.

  • Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.

  • Complete assigned administrative duties within the sports medicine department.
