Fuel Cell Failure Analysis /Reliability Engineering Intern

Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)

Term: May 18, 2026- August 7, 2026

Position Summary

Plug Inc. is actively seeking a highly motivated student to join our team. The student will be responsible for assisting in fuel cell failure analysis and reliability engineering.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Returned stack or component analysis.
  • Report findings of failure analysis.
  • Field reliability data analysis and relation of fuel cell stack reliability and component reliability.
  • Electrochemical surface area measurement, data analysis and reporting.
  • Stack testing as needed.
  • Gain a foundational understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices in manufacturing and technology.
  • Communication and Collaboration across cross-functional teams
  • Develop effective communication skills by collaborating with team members and presenting findings to different stakeholders.

Education and Qualification

  • Pursuing a Bachelor of Science, Master's or PhD degree in Chemistry, Physics, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrochemistry, Material Science or a related program.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the office in Slingerlands, New York and/or Latham, New York
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Possess solid hands-on approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent follow-through
  • Must be driven and self-motivated

Estimated Base Salary Range:

$21.00 - $25.00
