Description Acara Solutions has been providing aerospace firms throughout the U.S. with our staffing services for over 65 years. Our Sacramento, CA region international aerospace client (metal machine shop) is looking for multiple direct Machinists to join their organization.
This position is a manual lathe first shift machinist opening. First shift hours are Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:30pm. Expected time and one-half OT hours each week.
If the candidate is outside of the region, there is a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 to help with relocation. If local, there is a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
The hourly rate:
2-5 years exp pays $28 - $32/hr + 10% diff for 2nd shift
5+ years exp pays up to $41 / hour + 10% diff for 2nd shift
The Conventional Machinist sets up and operates a variety of manual lathes to produce precision parts and instruments including fabricating, modifying, or repairing mechanical instruments. The Conventional Machinist may also fabricate and modify parts to make or repair machine tools or maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Job Requirements Required Skills / Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Min 5 years of manual machining, including the use of measuring devices such as micrometers, calipers, plug gauges, and/or air gauges, along with the ability to operate: Drill press, Manual lathe, Punch press machine, Tumbler/de-burr machine, and Grinder
Min 3 years of manual lathes
This is an ITAR facility - U.S. Persons required
Preferred Skills / Qualifications:
CNC lathe machining experience a plus.
