The electrical optical engineer is responsible for electrical and control designs, and design verification tests of high speed transmit/receive optical assembly (TROSA) for next generation coherent transceivers. The position requires multitasking and interfacing with multiple engineering groups in multiple geographic locations. The successful candidate should have a solid understanding of optoelectronic devices, and hands-on experience with designing and testing small form factor optical assemblies for high-volume manufacturing

Responsibilitie

  • Part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team working on next generation optical transceiver products: electrical, firmware, optics, signal integrity, mechanical, and process engineers.

  • Review, evaluate, and response to product requirements
  • Characterize prototype TROSA electrical functions, control loops, and high-speed electrooptic responses
  • Model and measure high frequency signal coupling in transceiver devices and modules, provide mitigation solutions
  • Model and measure EMI noise susceptibility of control circuits and optical elements
  • Primary engineering interface with PIC, ASIC, and transceiver electrical and firmware designers for module integration
