Job Summary

Serve as the primary point of contact for patron and lobby operations when the Patron & Event Services Coordinator is not present. This position will interact on a regular basis with: Patrons, students, faculty, and staff. This position typically will advise and counsel: Venue rental clients and patrons. This position will supervise: Staff and student ushers

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Supervise staff ushers, student assistants, and volunteers in order to facilitate all public aspects of the event, including the opening of event space, safe passage of attendees, the conduct and experience of the attendees, and the secure closing of the space at the conclusion of the event.

Job Duty 2 -
Coordinate security, event services, hospitality, and custodial for performances, meetings, conferences, and other events at the Ferst Center or hosted by the Office of the Arts.

Job Duty 3 -
Assist in the coordination of front-of-the-house logistics for Office of the Arts events and events held in the Ferst Center as assigned by the Patron & Event Services Coordinator.

Job Duty 4 -
Carry out house management procedures and policies at events to ensure the efficient and safe process of patrons attending events.

Job Duty 5 -
Ensure lobby equipment is set up per event requirements and restored following each event.

Job Duty 6 -
Assist in the coordination of, facilitate sales for concessions, and merchandise at events.

Job Duty 7 -
Assist the box office as needed and as requested by the Box Office Coordinator.

Job Duty 8 -
Assist with the training of staff, students, and volunteer ushers.

Job Duty 9 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High School Diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications
This job will require standing for long periods and handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds.

Required Experience
One to two years of job-related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preferred skills include familiarity with event-related software, ability to communicate and interact within multicultural groups, familiarity with fire code for public venues, and training in basic first aid and AED defibrillator use.

Preferred Educational Qualifications
Technical Diploma, associate degree, or two years of college coursework

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires skills in office-related computer systems and applications; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; and excellent customer service skills.

Pay Grade: A4

Hourly Rate: $16.00 - $17.00 will be commensurate with qualifications.

Working hours: This part-time, on-call role requires up to 15 hours per week, with evening and weekend availability. Flexibility is essential, as the position involves being available for on-call shifts.
