JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Purpose
Serves as an essential part of the Engineering team to help support both the shop and product management teams. Shall be responsible for simple design of mechanical equipment as well as any required drafting duties necessary. Uses knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures and basic engineering principles to complete any assigned tasks. Responsible for resolving mechanical problems associated with the chipper and/or debarking drum and their designs. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform most functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Primary job functions require exercising some independent judgement as well.

*Creation of assembly and detail drawings,
*Creation of Bills of Material
*Creation of IOM Manuals
*Simple Layout/design of equipment
*Other engineering related activities as needed
*Travel (both domestic and international) may be required as needed

Position Qualifications
*Associates degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
*CAD experience required (AutoCAD Mechanical and Solidworks experience preferred) PC experience required.
*Wood handling project experience
*Moderate knowledge of and the ability to work with basic mathematical concepts of algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
*Excellent project management and business literacy skills.
*Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
*Ability to develop strong trusting relationships in order to gain support and achieve results.
*Manage multiple conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
*Work in environment with international objectives.
*Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
*Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
*Flexible and available to interact with customers as required
*Self-directed and motivated.
*Take initiative to identify and anticipate customer needs and make recommendations for implementation.

Software/Tools Used:
*AutoCad & Solidworks

Experience with conveyors, debarking drums, mechanical (machining, fabrication, welding, assembly) background.
