Overview
Serve as the lead technical expert responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex vehicle issues, performing high-level repairs, and ensuring fleet reliability. This senior-level role provides advanced technical guidance, quality assurance, and mentorship for the maintenance team.
Responsibilities
* Perform complex diagnostic procedures, major repairs, and advanced troubleshooting on diesel engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and
- commercial vehicle components while maintaining the highest quality and safety standards.
- * Lead technical problem-solving for challenging mechanical issues and provide expert guidance on repair procedures and best practices.
- * Mentor and train junior technicians, apprentices, and maintenance staff while sharing technical knowledge and developing team capabilities.
- * Support maintenance operations through technical consultation, quality assurance reviews, and process improvement recommendations.
- * Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor and Manager on complex repair projects and technical initiatives.
- * Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and manufacturer standards across all maintenance activities.
- * Promote continuous improvement by identifying cost-reduction opportunities, workflow efficiencies, and training needs within the maintenance team.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical or vocational degree in Automotive or Diesel Technology preferred.
- 8-10 years of progressive maintenance or mechanical experience.
- Certificates Required: Virginia State Inspector License.
- Certificates Preferred: Forklift Certification, ASE Master Technician Certification, CDL-A License, DOT Physical Card.
