Overview

Bring your MiTek experience to a team that values you and offers great opportunities for advancement. As a Truss Designer, you'll take ownership of roof and floor truss layouts from concept through approval, delivering optimized, code-compliant designs that support successful builds and satisfied customers.

What You'll Do

  • Interpret architectural and structural plans to create accurate roof and floor truss placement layouts aligned with 84 Components design standards.

  • Design roof and floor trusses using MiTek engineering software, ensuring all designs are structurally sound, optimized for material efficiency, and compliant with current Policies & Procedures.

  • Specify required truss hardware and components to support safe, buildable designs.

  • Manage and maintain complete, up-to-date Job Tracking Sheets to ensure smooth project flow and on-time delivery.

  • Prepare and issue truss approval letters in accordance with company procedures.

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, and customers to answer design questions, resolve issues, and support project success.

  • Maintain organized electronic and physical project files, ensuring plans are logged accurately and efficiently.

  • Participate in team meetings and cross-functional initiatives that improve processes, quality, and performance.

What We're Looking For

  • 2-5 years of hands-on truss design experience using MiTek software.

  • Strong understanding of roof and floor truss systems, construction documents, and building practices.

  • Ability to balance speed, accuracy, and optimization in a fast-paced design environment.

  • Clear communicator who collaborates well with sales teams, customers, and production.

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple projects at once.
