Responsible for various functions within the Risk Management Dept. to insure support for the development and supervision of the bank's appraisal policies and procedures and the approved appraiser list. Provide support to the credit decision making process, all departments, through the appraisal ordering and review process and adherence to the guidelines set forth by the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), Financial Institutions Reform Recovery and Enforcement Act (FIRREA), and the Interagency Appraisal and Evaluation Guidelines. Performs other projects and duties as assigned.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities: * Assist Valuation Services in verifying and processing vendor invoices, accounting and collection of fees for assignments. Oversee files on all Approved Appraisers including licenses, E&O, Qualifications and sample work. Support the Youconnect work flow by managing orders, bidding, engagement, reviews, evaluations and appraisals as needed. * Monitor and update appraisal orders and evaluation orders including reviews and disputes to ensure timely delivery of appraisals, evaluations and reviews to each department. * Provide assistance with training for all bank personnel that are involved in the valuation process as it pertains to Youconnect (valuation services job management system) and real estate valuation techniques and risk management. * Provide miscellaneous assistance to the bank departments including property inspections, tax appeal assistance, and other duties as may be required. * General administrative and secretarial support for the department to include typing, correspondence, communication with internal customers, answering questions, resolving problems as they arise from internal and external sources. * Continually seek methods to improve efficiency and accuracy of departmental functions, reports and procedures. * Assist others in the Valuation Services Department with special projects as they arise.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies: * Requires the ability to manage a large volume of multiple operational, relationship and transaction-oriented tasks * Must be self- motivated and able to operate independently in the absence of other departmental personnel * Must be able to type with speed, accuracy and minimal errors * Should have excellent customer service skills * Must have effective communication skills, verbal and written * Requires some knowledge of USPAP, FIRREA, and the Interagency Guidelines * Requires some knowledge of collateral valuation techniques commonly used to value real estate * Strong PC skills in Word and Excel. * Must be familiar with real estate data web resources such as GSCCCA, Costar, LoopNet, Realty Rates, MLS, Tax Assessor websites, GIS, etc. * Must be able to effectively deal with a variety of people at all levels.
Industry and Work Experience: * 1-3 years of experience
