Role Overview

Eastman Kodak Company is looking for a Product & Process Engineer to join our Wide Roll Film Manufacturing division located at the Eastman Business Park in Rochester, NY.



The principle responsibilities for this position are (1) day-to-day manufacturing support (quality, troubleshooting, and testing) of products, (2) implement process and equipment upgrades for continuous improvement efforts and new business initiatives, (3) introduce product quality and uniformity improvements, (4) interface with upstream and downstream departments as film and materials move from one operation to another and, (5) participate in multidisciplinary teams on new product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will have prior experience with roll-to-roll manufacturing processes, polyester manufacturing, substrate coating, and web conveyance. The position suits a person who can both see the big picture and is interested in the detail of how things happen.



Key Responsibilities to include:
* Product assessment and improvement of both physical quality and performance opportunities (yield improvements, waste reductions, etc.)
* Product development and accreditation of new business opportunities or features
* Become process and equipment expert in specific area(s) of Polyester Base Manufacturing
* Provide technical support for operations, EHS, and maintenance
* Troubleshoot process problems to identify root cause, provide recommendations, and implement preventive measures using Six Sigma methodology as applicable
* Work closely with maintenance and operations staff to identify and develop equipment reliability improvements
* Understand environmental, health, and safety regulations and apply to product development and equipment upgrades. Participate in process safety reviews
* Participate on multidisciplinary teams to achieve divisional goals



Required Skills / Experience:
* Ability to interact with teams that include operators, mechanics, chemists, management and other engineers
* Willingness to learn and to work hands on as needed
* Adaptable to changing conditions and priorities
* Effective verbal and written communication skills
* Able to work independently and in team environments
* Experience with Design of Experiment tools and statistical methods
* Demonstrated troubleshooting and root - cause analysis skills
* Willingness to learn
* Focus on safe work practices and EHS



Minimum Education Requirements:
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent
