This position is responsible for all areas of physician and advance practice provider recruitment for the designated hospital, along with affiliated physician practices. Responsible for assuring that maximum efforts are made to meet the medical staff needs of the local community. Responsible for planning, directing, and implementing programs and activities which develop beneficial relationships between the system, hospitals and physicians.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Bachelor's Degree in human resources, communications, marketing, healthcare administration or related field. EXPERIENCE: 1. Five (5) years of leadership experience in the healthcare industry. 2. Eight (8) years of Human Resources or Physician & Provider Recruitment experience PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE: 1. Master's Degree in human resources, communications, marketing, healthcare administration or related field. 2. Fellow of Association of Staff Physician Recruiters (FASPR)/Certified Physician/Provider Recruitment Professional (CPRP) CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The statements described here are intended to describe the general nature of work being performed by people assigned to this position. In partnership with leadership, directs the Physician and Advance Practice Provider recruitment process to include the establishment of medical staff consideration of recruiting needs/goals, procurement or qualified medical staff and budgetary constraints. 2. Attract and retain physicians and advance practice providers; maintains high level of physician and APP Satisfaction. 3. Manages and coordinates a comprehensive physician/APP recruitment program and maintains knowledge of current and emerging recruitment processes within the industry. 4. Reports out recruitment data and metrics regularly. 5. Provides advice and services to management regarding the development and retention of medical staff for independent hospital affiliated practices, hospital owned practices, physician practices and hospital contracted practices. 6. Serves as liaison between physician office and health system. 7. Attends appropriate medical staff and management committee meetings as assigned. 8. Attends and serves on professional civic service organizations. 9. Responsible for onboarding activities of physicians and advance practice providers in coordination with human resources, medical and financial credentialing. 10. Ensures early and timely contract and screening of candidates. Arranges pre-screening of candidate background checks and pre-employment physicals in cooperation with credentialing department and Employee Health. Arranges and hosts on-site physician and advance practice provider recruitment visits. Conducts hospital and community tours for recruits. Coordinates administrative details of facilities, invitations, catering and other services for recruitment, physician services and support publications. Coordinates relocation issues with candidates. 11. Work collaboratively with senior management staff and physicians to develop, implement and update strategies and opportunities for growth and improvement to support the organizations mission. 12. Develop strong leadership and positive rapport with community wide physicians to nature medical staff relationships and drive physician and advance practice provider engagement. 13. Works with leadership and the management team in achieving its goals for quality care, patient, physicians and employee satisfaction and continued financial stability. 14. Maintains the hospital's compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements. 15. Acts as liaison to the HRIS team to accomplish reporting and HRIS needs for Physician recruitment. 16. Coordinates immigration recruitment efforts, visa sponsorship, J-1 Waivers, and maintains knowledge of State and Federal immigration requirements and laws. 17. Mentors, coaches, supervises and develops Physician Recruitment staff. 18. Responsible for performance management of staff including performance reviews of assigned staff. 19. Reviews and makes recommendations for improvement of policies, procedures, and practices on Physician Recruitment & Retention matters to effect continual improvements in efficiency. 20. Develops and maintains Physician Recruitment annual budget, negotiates contracts, and approves all invoices. Knowledge of physician recruitment, physician contract negotiations; startup of medical practices, marketing, and the monitoring of practice performance. 2. Demonstrates the ability to handle multiple duties, multiple tasks and the ability and willingness to handle highly sensitive information in a confidential manner. 3. Assessing needs and market trends and oversight of candidate sourcing. 3. Oversee onboarding and hiring process, working closely with med staff and provider enrollment 4. Manage, train and motivate team of recruiters continually evaluating processes to ensure goals are being met and making recommendations on changes for improvement as appropriate. 5. Implement programs for physician and mid-level providers for physician practice enhancement and retention. 6. Maintain data, track metrics, and provide reports to senior leadership and or Board of Directors taking an active role in improvement of key performance metrics to assess overall performance of services. 7. Collaborate with Medical Staff office, Human Resources, Practice Managers, Marketing, external search firms, hospital and system leadership on an ongoing and consistent basis. 8. Partners and works collaboratively to drive initiatives to standardize functions and processes on the development and operationalization of standard processes and policies for physician and provider recruitment and onboarding services. 9. Work closely with leadership on medical staff planning and development. 10. Manage accounts with locum agencies for physician coverage, work with practices to schedule and manage invoicing.
