RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Operating Room at the state-of-the-art Morris Cancer Center on the New Brunswick campus.

The OR Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in the surgical setting, working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to improving surgical outcomes for our patients.

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

Required:

• Minimum of 1 year OR experience, or recent graduate from the Periop101 program.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure surgical environment.

Certifications and Licenses Required:

• Current RN license in the state of New Jersey.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.

Preferred:

• CNOR certification preferred but not required.

Scheduling Requirements:

• Schedule: 40 Hours per week, Evening shift 3:00p-11:30p
• Weekends, Holidays, and on-call requirements as assigned.
• Full Time

Essential Functions:

• The OR Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in the surgical setting, working collaboratively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals.
• This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is dedicated to improving surgical outcomes for oncology patients.
• Prepare and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
• Assess, plan, and implement patient care before, during, and after surgery.
• Assist surgical teams by providing necessary instruments and supplies.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
• Adhere to hospital policies and best practices in perioperative nursing.
• Document patient progress and maintain accurate medical records.

The Morris Cancer Center in New Brunswick, NJ opened in May 2025. This is a $750 million, 12-story, 510,000-square-foot facility and is the state's first and only freestanding cancer hospital.
