Job Description: The Opportunity

We are redefining the multifamily industry through our AI product suite. As we scale, we are seeking a Senior Manager of Accounting, Governance & Controls to serve as the bridge between cutting-edge automation and institutional-grade trust.

In this role, you won't just be "checking boxes"-you will be an architect of integrity. You will partner directly with Product and Engineering to bake auditability into our AI workflows, ensuring that our enterprise clients can rely on our technology with total confidence. You will lead our SOC 1 readiness and define how modern AI accounting should be governed.

Core Responsibilities
  • Architect the Control Framework: Define and maintain a robust set of accounting controls (approvals, reconciliations, and audit trails) specifically tailored for AI-driven multifamily workflows.

  • Product Partnership: Act as a strategic consultant to Product and Engineering teams to embed automated safeguards, activity logs, and "compliance-by-design" into new features.

  • Lead SOC 1 Readiness: Own the end-to-end SOC 1 lifecycle, from documenting control objectives to managing evidence collection and navigating external audits.

  • Risk Mitigation: Perform "impact assessments" on upcoming product launches, identifying potential accounting risks and proposing creative, scalable solutions.

  • The Voice of Trust: Serve as the primary liaison for enterprise client auditors. You will lead walkthroughs and translate our complex AI processes into clear, evidence-backed packages.

  • Client Enablement: Create the "User Control Considerations" and documentation that empower our customers to satisfy their own internal audit requirements.

What You Bring
  • Audit Expertise: 5+ years in internal/external audit or controllership. Experience within a Big 4 firm, top-tier advisory, or a sophisticated multifamily controllership is highly valued.

  • Compliance Literacy: Deep, hands-on experience designing and testing SOC 1 or SOX controls. You know what auditors look for and how to prove a control is operating effectively.

  • Technical Fluency: You can speak "Accounting" to a CFO and "Logic" to an Engineer. You understand system change management and data integrity.

  • Executive Presence: You are comfortable presenting to stakeholders and clients, turning complex governance topics into actionable insights.

  • NYC Presence: This role is based at our NYC headquarters (4-5 days per week) to foster close collaboration with our core product teams.

Bonus Points For
  • CPA Certification.

  • Experience in SaaS or High-Growth Tech environments.

  • Familiarity with AI/ML governance or automated financial workflows.

  • Direct experience in Multifamily Real Estate accounting operations.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
