POSITION SUMMARY:

The Patient Navigator III assists patients, families, and caregivers to navigate the many systems encountered during the treatment journey. Provides administrative support by performing general clerical work and by with collecting and managing clinical and research data in a standardized format. The Patient Navigator III will also update, cancel and reschedule procedure appointments including registration, insurance/coverage verification, appointment scheduling, and other duties to coordinate care for patients needing procedures.

Schedule: Full Time 8:30am - 5pm

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:

The Patient Navigator III will also update, cancel and reschedule procedure appointments including registration, insurance/coverage verification, appointment scheduling, and other duties to coordinate care for patients needing procedures.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

  • Associates' Degree plus three years of related experience or HS Diploma/GED plus five years of related experience.

EXPERIENCE:


  • Three years of experience in similar or related field (such as community health work) is required.

  • Individual must have experience (paid or volunteer) working with families of various backgrounds.

  • Must have some familiarity navigating community resources and systems.


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:


  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural, diverse, decentralized environment, as a member of a health care team.

  • Demonstrated customer service skills, including the ability to use appropriate judgment, independent thinking and creativity when resolving customer issues.

  • Excellent English communication skills (oral and written) and interpersonal skills are required to interact with internal and external contacts in a courteous and patient focused manner.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities at the same time effectively

  • Knowledge of software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

  • Ability to interpret and record data and understand basic medical terminology.

  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality of all personal/health sensitive information.


Compensation Range:

$24.27- $30.17

This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, and licensure/certifications directly related to position requirements.
