DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform maintenance and repair tasks related to the construction, alteration, repair, and upkeep of buildings and structural components, including floors, roofs, stairways, windows, and doors. Responsibilities include preparing and painting interior and exterior surfaces; installing and repairing sinks, faucets, water heaters, and drainage systems; installing and replacing electrical circuits, panels, outlets, and lighting fixtures; and performing concrete and masonry repairs. You will determine appropriate work methods, procedures, and priorities. All duties are performed in compliance with DMVA general safety policies and the specific safety requirements of this position.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 1st shift (7:00 AM to 3:00 PM), Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. May change based on operational needs.
  • Travel: As needed
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration): or
  • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirement:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
