Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is seeking an experienced Emergency Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This role is full time day shift (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM) with five (5) weekend shifts per 6-week period. Eligible for sign on bonus and relocation assistance for qualified applicants. Inova Fair Oaks Emergency Room is a 34-bed emergency services facility recently renovated and expanded to serve patients, both adult and pediatric, more efficiently. ER Nurse Responsibilities:
- Provide knowledgeable and caring clinical practice and care coordination through an understanding of patient, family, nurse, and healthcare delivery team.
- Experienced behavioral health nurses and Overflow unit assist the team in caring for non-emergency patients
- Conduct all patient care in a patient and family-centered manner.
- Use an integrated approach toward patient outcomes
- Utilize standards, guidelines, and pathways for care delivery.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship.
- Education: BSN or AD. If RN has an AD, within 2 years from date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1.) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend 2.) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date 3.) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses 4.) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date
- License: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license
- Certification: BLS for Healthcare Provider certification through American Heart Association
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience: Two years ED experience strongly preferred
- Other: Proficient in English; Strong verbal and written communication skills; Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to display a caring demeanor toward others; Proficient computer skills required.
