About the Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Team

The Medical Marketplace at Lakewood Health System is a full-service medical equipment and supply company with store locations in Long Prairie and Staples, MN. Launched in 2008, Medical Marketplace is owned and operated by Lakewood Health System and has a customer service satisfaction rate of 96%. The team consists of 7 full-time members, dedicated to working with patients and their insurance companies to ensure smooth transactions.

Mission for Position

The DME Inventory Coordinator facilitates the efficient and timely movement of inventory making it possible for the team to provide excellent service, every time, helping empower health and wellbeing for our patients.

Position Summary

Customer Service Representative



  • Coordinate patient benefits for home medical equipment
  • Educate patient on benefits
  • Coordinate follow-up calls and resupply schedule
  • Maintain excellent communication and professional credibility with providers, other departments within the organization and on the DME Team
  • Pursue continuing education and expertise in service lines
  • Ability to work independently and apply policy and procedures to maximize patient experience
  • Uphold high customer service standards for patients, families, caregivers, providers and fellow staff
  • Close working relationship with other LHS departments such as wound care, respiratory therapy, OB and social services


Inventory Coordination



  • Maintain correction inventory records in the inventory software
  • Create and monitor purchase orders for the DME department
  • Create and report out on the month end DME inventory reports
  • Work with the fiscal department to resolve inventory discrepancies


Position Type

Full-time, Monday through Friday; 32 hours per week; 8:30am - 5:00pm

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Experience with home medical equipment
  • Experience in a healthcare setting
  • Desire to work as a member of a high functioning team
  • Respect for confidentiality and professional integrity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent internal/external customer experience skills
  • Quickly learns about and understands new equipment, paying special attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and drive for high achievement
