The Philanthropy Officer of Pipeline Development reports to the Director of Development Business and Operations. Leads, provides oversight, and assesses pipeline development that generates unrestricted and restricted revenue on behalf of Brown University Health hospitals. Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing a strong prospect development pipeline that builds a long-term culture of philanthropy. This will be done by identifying prospective major and principal giving donors through data analysis, strategic research, workflow design systems that supports portfolio optimization and moves management. Pipeline Development Process Optimization & Systems Management:
- Regularly evaluate, adapt, and enhance the pipeline process to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Collaborate on improvements to donor ratings, model scores, and engagement metrics to enhance prospect development processes.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and documentation standards for pipeline management across the department.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Analyze donor data, trends, and wealth indicators to identify high-potential prospects and prioritize outreach for gift officers.
- Develop, refine, and manage reports, dashboards, and workflows to track pipeline health and portfolio performance.
- Support prospect strategy meetings.
- Maintain data integrity and ensure consistent documentation of all activities related to moves management and prospect engagement within the CRM system.
- Generate strategic analyses to inform campaign readiness, portfolio growth, and forecasting.
Collaboration & Moves Management:
- Partner closely with gift officers to assess portfolio composition, support strategy, and optimize assignments.
- Ensure regular moves management practices are data-driven and goal-aligned.
- Participate in portfolio review meetings and collaborative discussions with gift officers.
- Provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations, including prospect strategy and pipeline meetings.
- Support team adherence to moves management best practices.
- Provide guidance to ensure accountability toward key performance metrics.
- Lead aggressive moves management program which define processes and procedures.
Pipeline Strategy & Development:
- Design and launch a comprehensive pipeline development program across the health system, with strategies to advance annual and mid-level donors into major and principal giving.
- Define and manage systems that guide prospects through the donor lifecycle - from direct mail to mid-level, planned, major and principal giving.
- Build and maintain a dynamic prospect pipeline model aligned with moves management principles of identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Lead regular evaluations of pipeline systems to ensure efficiency, growth, and alignment with fundraising goals.
- Strategize with gift officers to right-fit and right-size portfolios.
- Ensure portfolios are manageable in size and contain the most appropriate prospects.
- Strategize with the team to set and meet key metrics.
- Oversee pipeline and ensures there are enough verified prospects to meet priorities.
- In conjunction with Prospect Research and Leadership Team, ensure that relationships are being built efficiently and effectively while keeping gift officers accountable to their strategies.
- Monitors and enforces adherence to moves management protocols by gift officers, ensuring timely documentation, strategic action planning and measurable progress toward advancing prospects through the donor lifecycle.
- Support leadership in assessing whether the pipeline is sufficient to meet campaign goals.
- Other duties and projects as assigned related to pipeline development and campaign readiness.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or equivalent field.
EXPERIENCE:
- Three to Five years of experience.
- Experience in direct mail processing, prospect pipeline development demonstrating knowledge of effective processes, high degree of organizational skills and effective interpersonal skills to interact with others both within and outside the organization.
- Analytical skills to assess effectiveness of assignments and recommend modifications as appropriate.
- Experience with Raisers' Edge or similar donor databases.
- Excellent writing and editing skills. Experience within healthcare fundraising preferred.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None. Pay Range: $64,480.00-$106,412.80
