About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Facilities, Maintenance & Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Manager to oversee facility operations, equipment maintenance, and safety compliance across our Franklin and Iron Ridge locations. This leadership role ensures a safe, reliable, and compliant workplace, supporting production uptime and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is hands-on, collaborative, and skilled in both technical facility management and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Facilities & Maintenance Management
- Oversee daily facility operations, ensuring both sites remain safe, clean, and fully functional.
- Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime.
- Manage maintenance staff and contractors, ensuring quality and timely completion of work.
- Coordinate repairs, building improvements, equipment installations, and capital projects.
- Maintain maintenance budgets, vendor relationships, and service agreements.
- Utilize and improve CMMS systems for tracking assets, work orders, and maintenance activities.
Environmental Health & Safety
- Lead all EH&S programs to ensure OSHA, EPA, and state/local compliance.
- Conduct routine facility inspections, hazard assessments, audits, and incident investigations.
- Maintain required safety documentation, permits, SDS logs, and compliance reporting.
- Deliver employee safety training (PPE, LOTO, machine guarding, forklift, emergency response, etc.).
- Monitor and improve safety KPIs, including incident rates, near-misses, and corrective actions.
- Oversee waste handling, chemical management, environmental compliance, and spill response.
- Lead Safety Committee meetings and foster a strong safety culture across both sites.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner with Plant Managers and Operations to support production efficiency and facility needs.
- Collaborate with HR on injury prevention, workers' compensation follow-up, and onboarding.
- Support emergency preparedness, security systems, and business continuity plans.
- Standardize safety and maintenance processes across locations.
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years of experience in facilities, maintenance, or EHS in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Experience overseeing facility operations and maintenance personnel.
- Ability to travel regularly between Franklin and Iron Ridge (up to 50%).
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Safety Management, or a related field.
- Certifications such as OSHA 30, CMRP, CSP, or CHMM.
- Experience with CMMS, TPM, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
