DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Maintenance Repairman 1, your role will involve a range of skilled trade tasks related to the planning, estimating, and execution of construction projects for various buildings and structures. You will be tasked with creating rough plans, estimating material quantities, and selecting appropriate tools and equipment. Your responsibilities will include measuring, cutting, and assembling lumber, as well as pouring and finishing concrete, and constructing elements such as railings, stairs, and partitions. You will utilize a variety of hand tools, both motorized and non-motorized, including shovels, hammers, and compressors. Additionally, you will assist with winter maintenance tasks as needed.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Work hours may vary for winter operations.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of experience in general maintenance work which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
