Description

The purpose of the postdoctoral program is to help the fellow(s) prepare and start their successful career in medical education. The postdoctoral fellow(s) will develop and conduct innovative medical education research projects and contribute to existing medical education research projects and teaching practices at SIUSOM. The fellow will also be socialized into medical education through guided training and mentoring practices.


Examples of Duties

Teaching 20%

1. Participate in teaching and faculty development workshop practices at SIUSOM
2. Participate in curriculum committee meetings and projects
Research 80%
1. Design, conduct and report on research related to education in medicine and other areas.
2. Contribute to existing medical education research projects.
3. Present at regional and national conferences and publish in the field of medical education.
Administration 0%
Service 0%

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
1. Earned PhD, EdD, or other terminal degree (e.g., DA, DSc). Candidates with ABD (All But Dissertation) status may apply with a letter of completion; however, successful candidates must complete their degree by the time of employment.
2. Sensitive to the needs of underrepresented minority populations.
