Job Summary The Audio Visual Technician supports the installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of commercial AV systems on large-scale infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for mounting AV hardware, terminating low-voltage cabling, building and dressing equipment racks, and assisting with the setup and programming of systems such as Crestron and Extron. The technician ensures all work is completed safely, professionally, and in alignment with project specifications and industry standards. Job Responsibilities

Install audio and video control systems including Crestron and Extron, as well as projectors, displays, speakers, amplifiers, and sound masking equipment.

Install mounts and related hardware on various wall and ceiling types for projectors, displays, speakers, and wireless microphone systems.

Install and terminate AV low-voltage cabling, including 18/2, coax, CAT5e, and CAT6.

Terminate RG6, HD-SDI, SDI, XLR, and RCA connections.

Dress and route cable from IT closets to device locations such as equipment racks, displays, projectors, and speakers.

Install cable pathways including J-hooks and D-rings.

Perform cable management tasks including dressing, labeling, and organizing wiring.

Build and dress AV equipment racks.

Troubleshoot basic audio, video, and control system issues.

Read and follow blueprints and installation documentation.

Communicate effectively with colleagues and leadership using professional written and verbal communication.

Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper PPE use and maintaining a clean jobsite.

Oversee AV installation tasks, including cable pulling, device installation, and rack dressing, and assist with identifying and resolving equipment issues.
Job Requirements

High school diploma or GED.

Six months or more of commercial audio-visual installation experience.

Experience with Crestron or Extron control systems.

OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Physical ability to work on ladders and scissor lifts, work in confined spaces, lift up to 50 pounds, and move up to 75 pounds; ability to stand for the duration of the shift.

Basic hand tools including screwdriver (multi-bit), tape measure, snips, needle-nose and channel-lock pliers, RG6 cable stripper, coax crimper, punch-down tool, flashlight, work boots (steel toe or composite toe), gloves, and tool pouch.

CTS certification preferred (if applicable; user may confirm requirement).
