Public Health Aide - Part-Time

Assist OPH employees in implementing the goals and objectives of the health department. For example, taking courier deliveries between offices, county facilities, and designated locations within Montgomery County, assisting with the set-up and management of community clinics and health fairs, and performing clerical duties as assigned.

This is considered an Essential Position within the Office of Public Health. Essential Employees must report to work as scheduled or remain at work during emergencies. Essential employees conduct essential job functions or assigned emergency duties which may involve assignments within the Department Operations Center, Emergency Operations Center, deployment to a field location to participate in public health activities, or other duties as required during periods of emergency. If received, emergency assignments may be performed under adverse conditions and continue for a few hours to several weeks, months, etc.

• Timely pickup and delivery of mail, standard and medium-sized packages, between county offices.
• Assist in OPH outreach programs and operations.
• Meet deadlines as stated in work orders submitted by OPH staff.
• Timely pickup and delivery of human, animal and environmental specimens.
• Set up and break down at various clinics or outreach sites.
• Maintain department vehicle and report issues immediately.
• Assist in other administrative duties as directed by the Health Program Office Coordinator and designated leadership.

• Valid PA driver's license and excellent driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience and Skills

• At least one year of work experience with the public preferred.
• Must have a functional car and be willing to travel throughout Montgomery County and neighboring counties.
• Ability to operate an eight-passenger van and necessary delivery equipment.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to read a road map and/or operate personal navigation applications/software.
• Maintain confidentiality of OPH matters.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office.
• This position requires the following clearances as a condition of employment:

Child Abuse History Clearance, PA Criminal Record History, and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
