Basic Function

HF Sinclair is seeking a Manager,Crude Oil Scheduling in Dallas,TX who wil be responsible to Oversees and manages multiple aspects and activities of the crude oil scheduling department, including overseeing personnel activities to ensure all logistics activities are executed in a timely and commercially prudent manner.

Job Duties

  • Manages and oversees all crude oil movements, working with other departments to facilitate timely product and invoicing of that crude oil
  • Schedules crude oil and backs up team on all third-party pipelines utilized by the company
  • Manages all employees and activities pertinent to crude supply scheduling to achieve maximum productivity and effectiveness
  • Manages and oversees department to improve time and cost efficiency of crude oil shipments
  • Works with other departments to maintain proper inventories of companywide crude oil, ensures all inventory levels are achieved, and communicates all differences
  • Monitors daily crude oil movements and inventory positions and communicates with appropriate departments
  • Manages and maintains good working relationships with customers, exchange partners, suppliers, and third-party crude oil companies and/or terminal personnel and works with blenders, traders and schedulers to maximize crude oil movements and values for the Corporation
  • Maintains positive and productive working relationship within the department and with other departments, acting as the primary liaison between refinery, traders, optimization, and customer service
  • Negotiates with Customs Brokers during foreign imports and exports
  • Works with third-party product companies on tariffs, expansion, or other policy matters affecting the company
  • Assists manager in analyzing potential projects.
  • Identifies areas for improvement that would benefit product movements or purchases of the Company's crude oil supply needs.
  • Oversees crude oil quality analysis for compliance with pipeline specifications and refinery needs.
  • Works closely with HF Sinclair Midstream to enhance working relationships and drive value for the company.
  • Drives commercial value for the Corporation by proactively identifying value in pipeline tariff optimization, time trades, grade swaps, and other scheduling and trading opportunities.
  • Works as a liaison with the Logistics department for crude oil movements by truck and rail to pipe.


Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their superiors are determined from timeto time at their sole and complete discretion.

Experience

A minimum of 10 years' experience in the petroleum industry with at least five years of relevant functional experience in Commercial is required.



Preferred Experience
An understanding of crude oil supply, as well as an understanding of refining procedures, is also preferred.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in business, business administration, logistics concentration or technical discipline is required.

Required Skills

Ability to perform a variety of high-level assignments for the crude oil supply department. Working knowledge of Microsoft products and the ability to multi-task are required. Ability to handle situations involving conflicts arising out of crude oil being off-specification, short/long term refinery/logistical problems causing changes to crude oil demand profile, management of crude oil volumes in apportionment, and force majeure situations. Strong organizational skills; advanced leadership, effective delegation, negotiation, and forward-thinking skills; ability to communicate effectively with others, both written and verbal communication, and across multiple department lines and manage third-party locations. Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform complex mathematical calculations.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility
Responsible for the direct supervision of staff and managerial employees.
Work Conditions
Office based with travel up to 30% by land and air required. Petroleum refinery, warehouse/plant environment including but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks, and rotating equipment. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
