Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead all phases (design, build, testing) of small to medium-sized LIS projects, including Oracle Millennium software upgrades, adoption of new functionality and enhancements to integrated workflows
  • Provide Oracle Millennium product expertise for the design, build and testing of assigned laboratory modules, especially PathNet General Laboratory
  • Collaborate with end users to scope, design, and build LIS enhancements; configure system build to resolve incidents in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
  • Provide technical and clinical consultation, including application configuration and workflow analysis
  • Review, analyze and evaluate system needs to develop recommendations for stakeholders
  • Develop, support, and maintain workflow documentation, test scripts and configuration guides for core application functionality
  • Perform daily monitoring of LIS applications in production; provide 24/7 on-call coverage as required
  • Work with trainers to develop and maintain application-specific training curriculum and materials
  • Build strong relationships with operational stakeholders, customers and business partners
  • Configure LIS modules for blood typing, crossmatching, antibody screening and transfusion documentation
  • Monitor and manage blood product inventory, expiration and storage conditions
  • Ensure LIS compliance with FDA, AABB, CAP and CLIA blood bank standards
  • Support donor tracking, transfusion history and adverse event documentation
  • Prepare LIS for emergency scenarios involving rapid blood allocation
  • Generate reports on blood usage, wastage and transfusion reactions

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED (or higher)
  • 2+ years of experience supporting Cerner Millennium Laboratory modules, especially PathNet General Laboratory and Blood Bank
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
  • 2+ years of Cerner build experience designing workflows for laboratories, physician, nursing and ancillary departments
  • 2+ years of experience working with laboratory automation systems, middleware or LIS-integrated databases
  • Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience working in a clinical laboratory setting (hospital, reference lab or transfusion service)
  • Demonstrated history of team management (formal or informal), cross-team communication and leadership skills
  • Certification such as ASCP or equivalent

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $58,800 to $105,000 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
