Major Projects Design Technology Manager

Responsible for planning of and advisement on Design Technology strategies on major projects throughout the firm.


RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Provides proactive support to major projects including, but not limited to: contract review, BIM implementation planning, team kick-off, project setup and technology configuration.
  • Actively improves quality and efficiency in project design and delivery processes.
  • Ensures that configurations and other customizations are complete, in place and limited to those that are supportable and in line with standards and project procedures.
  • Supervises BIM Coordinators assigned to major projects to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Coordinates support activities for major projects with regional Design Technology staff.
  • Addresses technical issues, with the support of other ATG staff, software vendors, and other resources.
  • Conducts BIM-based quality control reviews.
  • Maintains current knowledge of design software, industry developments in integrated practice, and other applicable techniques.
  • Contributes to firm-wide Design Technology initiatives based on successes from major projects.


  • Takes personal responsibility for fostering a green workplace through sustainable work practices.
  • Fosters a commitment to external and internal client service.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or a related discipline required.
  • 10 years' progressive experience in BIM/3D Modeling, and/or 3 years' experience on major projects.
  • Prior experience with BIM management and/or support preferred.
  • LEED accreditation or Green Associate preferred.


SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:



  • Advanced knowledge in building information modeling programs and applicable techniques.
  • Expertise in Revit required, Solibri and IFC a plus.
  • Experience with contract reviews and BIM execution planning.
  • Proficiency in 3D Modeling and analysis software such as Rhino and SketchUp, including the ability to configure these programs.
  • Knowledge about sustainability, integrated design, and LEED guidelines.
  • Ability to effectively train project staff.
  • Effective writing and verbal communication skills required.

Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, education and location. The reasonably expected salary range for this position is $135,000 to $145,000. Other compensation may include a discretionary bonus.
