This is a fast-paced operation where the leader thrives in a dynamic, high-mix manufacturing environment with tight customer schedules and concurrent NPI/ECN (New Product Introduction/Engineering Change Notice) activity. You will ensure compliance to ISO 9001 and internal standards, drive problem solving and continuous improvement, champion Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) for new and changed products, and collaborate cross-functionally to meet customer requirements, reduce warranty risk, and improve First Pass Yield (FPY), Customer Escapes, scrap, and Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ).
How you will do it
QMS Leadership & Compliance
Own the site Quality Management System (QMS); ensure processes are established, implemented, maintained, and effective in accordance with ISO 9001 and company policies.
Serve as Management Representative for audits; plan, host, and close actions from external and internal audits.
Maintain documented information: procedures, work instructions, control plans, records, and calibration systems.
Production Quality Performance

Manage Material Review Board (MRB) and Corrective Action Request (CAR) processes; ensure timely disposition and systemic corrective actions.
Deploy Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability studies; validate process changes and eradicate special causes.
Customer & Field Quality / Warranty
Prevent, contain, and resolve customerimpacting issues; coordinate spill containment and certified product releases as required.
Partner with Finance/Service to analyze warranty trends; drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions to reduce claim rates and cost.
Communicate transparently with stakeholders on quality alerts, escalations, and recovery plans.
Supplier Quality Collaboration
Work with Supplier Development & Performance (SD&P) and SQE teams to address supplier defects (Root Cause Analysis/8D), enforce Controlled Shipping, and resolve SMRR/DMR items.
Support supplier qualification and APQP/PPAP deliverables; ensure incoming quality conformance and robust change management.
APQP / NPI / Engineering Change
Lead plant deliverables for APQP, PFMEA, Control Plan, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), and validation builds.
Ensure Engineering Change Notices (ECN) affecting plant product are implemented with risk assessment, verification, and updated documentation.
Systems & Data
Leverage enterprise QMS/issuetracking systems (e.g., IRIS currently; PLEX QMS as deployed) to record, analyze, and close issues; maintain data integrity.
Develop, publish, and review weekly/monthly dashboards for FPY, Customer Escapes, scrap, CoPQ, warranty, and supplier performance.
Governance & Communication
Run tiered quality meetings; provide clear status, risks, and decisions to plant leadership and the Director of Quality.
Prepare concise reports and executive readouts; escalate critical risks promptly with containment and recovery plans.
People Leadership & Culture
Build and lead a highperforming team (quality engineers/technicians); set objectives, coach, and develop capabilities.
Promote Zero Harm and quality mindset across operations; facilitate training (TraintheTrainer) and audit readiness.
